John “Jack” L. Brown

John “Jack” L. Brown, 89, of Farmington, passed away, Sunday, January 5, 2025, at his home in Farmington.

He was born in Canton, to John E. and Della (Wilcoxen) Brown. They preceded him in death as well as five brothers, five sisters, and one granddaughter.

Jack is survived by his wife of 69, years, Hazel (Gillott) Brown. They were married on August 12, 1955 in Farmington.

Also surviving are his two sons, Mark (Denise) Brown and Michael (Tammy) Brown, ten grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren, and one great grandchild on the way.

Jack worked at Farmington Wilbert Vault for 25 years. In 1967 he started selling and servicing cemetery monuments out of his home. In 1978 he opened Brown Monuments in Canton with his family.

A funeral service will be held on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton at 11:00 a.m. visitation will be held at the funeral home one hour prior to the services. Burial will immediately follow at Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington.

Memorials may be made to the Farmington Rescue Squad.
