Glenn L. Moody

Glenn L. Moody, 84, of Elmwood, passed away at 5:32 p.m., on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Glenn was born September 14, 1940, in Elmwood, IL, to Harry and Margaret (Windish) Moody. Glenn married Nancy Van Tine on June 26, 1958, in Burlington, IA. She survives.

Glenn is also survived by three children, Ricky (Jimmie) Moody of Elmwood, Deborah (Tim) Harper of Elmwood, and James Moody of Elmwood; seven grandchildren, Jeremy Hickman, Leslie Ginther, Cara Stewart, Christopher Moody, Tricia Little, Jennifer Jones, and Anthony Moody; and thirteen great-grandchildren, Jadyn Ginther, Austin Hickman, Madison Hickman, Cole Moon, Abigail Strode, Charlotte Moody, Kirsten Little, Brayden Little, Clara Jones, Elliott Jones, Rhett Jones, Emmett Jones, and Harrison Moody.

Glenn is preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, John Moody.

Glenn was a Skilled Trades Carpenter at Caterpillar for over 30 years. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Elmwood. He was also a member of the Masonic Lodge #192. More recently, Glenn served on the Elmwood City Council Board and the Elmwood Cemetery Board.

Masonic rites followed by his funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., on Monday, December 30, 2024, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood. A visitation will be held prior to the service on the same day from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will immediately follow at Elmwood Township Cemetery.

Memorials may be to the Elmwood United Methodist Church and the Elmwood Fire Department.
