He was born on September 8, 1947 in Parkersburg, W.V. to Robert and F. Irene (Pine) VanClief.
He married Linda Stephens on August 3, 1978 in Jacksonville, FL. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Lisa (David) Bergevin of Canton, IL, Daniel (Tiffany Bowden) VanClief of Hillard, FL, one sister, Nancy VanClief of Shawboro, N.C., five grandchildren, Hannah (Emily) Bergevin, Sophia (Kyle) Bergevin and Ashley, Jessica and Morgan VanClief along with five great grandchildren, Ryleigh, Skyla, Raine, Indra and Jameson. His niece Tracy VanClief and great niece, Amanda (Tyler) McNeil also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Norman.
Bruce served as a machinist in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War.
He was the owner and operator of Southern Machine and Fabrication in Jacksonville, FL. He made custom Hot Rod parts in his shop called Past Time’s Hot Rods. He enjoyed traveling to his favorite show Shades of the Past in Pigeon Forge with his family selling his parts. He also liked carving tikis from palm trees and all things plants and landscaping.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton. A celebration of his life will be held in the Spring in Florida.
