Dara Dawn Bailey

Dara Dawn Bailey, 64, of Havana passed away at 8:22 p.m. on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Mason District Hospital in Havana. She was born on September 11, 1960 in Havana, Illinois to Melvin and Katherine (Gillmore) Bailey.

Dara is survived by her children, Amber (Erik) Yocum, Deedra (Sabino) Conteras Galicia, and Denise Bailey; grandchildren, Noelle, Julia, Shane, Steven, Jonathan, Craedyn, and Brennan; great-grandchild, Greyson; siblings, Rodney Bailey, Daran Bailey, Valarie Bailey Stutsman, Kimberly (Terry) Bailey Bennett, Bradley Bailey, and Eric Allard; niece, Vicki Allard and many other cousins, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, Brian Bailey; two half-siblings; and grandson, Adam Hickle.
Dara was an amazing person and had a smile that would light up a room. She was always helping people and was very caring. She enjoyed fishing and playing slot machines. Having worked at County Market in Havana for several years, she met a lot of people and was very well known in the community. She loved being with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
