Tammey Sue "Punkey" Lair

Tammey Sue “Punkey” Lair, 59, of Topeka, Il, passed away Sunday evening, October 2, 2022, at Unity Point Methodist Hospital in Peoria, after a brief illness. She was born on Fort Bliss US Army base in El Paso, TX, October 9, 1962 to Richard Passey and the late Lois McDonald. She married the love of her life, Terry Lair on January 19, 2017 in Havana, IL, he survives.


Tammey was a fun loving, hard-working, devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She was the driving force of the Chicken Shak, aka, Chautauqua Goofy Ridge Sportsman's Club. She enjoyed camping, gardening, dancing, estate sales, and being with her family and friends. Tammey was also a former Girl Scout Troop leader, which she greatly enjoyed.

Surviving are her husband, Terry Lair of Topeka IL; her father, Richard Passey of Lebanon OR; her children, Rochelle (Kenny) Sheff of Green Valley IL, Sharnelle (Joseph) Schmier of Mesa AZ, Christopher (Daisy) Flores of Ft.Madison IA, Terry Junior (Kara) Lair of Pekin IL, Jennifer (Gus) Lair of Acworth GA; a sister, Cheryl Beasley and a brother Chester "Chet" Massingill both of AZ. Also surviving are thirteen grandchildren, four great grandchildren, her little dog D.D., and a whole lot of wonderful friends, all of whom she loved so much.

In addition to her mother, Tammey was preceded in death by an infant brother, Joey and her brother-in-law, Tyler Lair.

Cremation Rites have been accorded and the family will have a Memorial Service at the Chicken Shak aka Chautauqua Goofy Ridge Sportsman's Club on Saturday, October 15, 2022 from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm.
