Anthony "Tony" R. Seipel

Anthony "Tony" R. Seipel, 47, of Elmwood, passed away at 12:35 p.m., on Sunday, October 9, 2022, at his home.

He was born February 10, 1975, in Peoria to Bernard and Sandy (Weaver) Seipel.
He married Stacey Seipel on September 26, 2015. She survives, as well as their son Colten.
He is also survived by his father; step-mother, Nancy Seipel; two brothers, Bill (Michelle) Seipel and Dan (Stephanie) Seipel; step-sister, Tara Judd; step-brother, Alex Bostic; and nephews and nieces, Samantha, Sydney, Logan, Alexa, Keaton, and Holden.
He is preceded in death by his mother and brother, Ronald.
Tony graduated Elmwood High School in 1993. Following high school, he completed the Caterpillar Dealer Service Technology Program. In 2001 he was initiated into the International Union of Operating Engineers, Union Local 649.
The absolute joy of Tony's life was spending time with his son Colten. He shared his love of classic Bugs Bunny and Foghorn Leghorn with his son. He enjoyed working on the farm with his dad and tinkering on cars. He could do small fixes or rebuild a whole engine. At the end of the week, he could often be found at The Compound with his best friend Shane. Tony had a do-it-yourself spirt and a "learn by doing" work ethic. He never met a fence he couldn't mend or a set of shelves that couldn't be built with whatever was lying around. He was a jack of all trades and put that to good use by helping his family whenever called upon. Tony always made time to visit with any neighbor that stopped by. While not a simple man, he appreciated simplicity.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A private burial of ashes will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery in rural Elmwood at a later date. A visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2022, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Elmwood. Food and fellowship will follow at 4:00 p.m. at the Banquet Hall in Elmwood.
Memorials may be made to B.Y.E. Ambulance.
