Charles G. "Trig" Widger

 

Charles G. "Trig" Widger, 85, of Canton, passed away Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at his home in Canton.

He was born on May 24, 1935, in Fairview, to David "Earl" and Anna (Elias) Widger. They preceded him in death along with one brother, Russell and one sister Betty Hamilton.

He is survived by his wife, Lois "June" (McLouth), whom he married on June 15, 1954.

Also surviving are three children, Steven A. (Carol) Widger, Randy Widger, and Krista (Bob) Cebuhar, six grandchildren, Tyke, Taylor, Trey, Alicia, Brad and Drew, two step grandchildren, Jeff and Jill, thirteen great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren, four brothers, James, Wesley, Wayne and Bernard and two sisters, Evelyn Lowe and Marilyn Widger.

Trig retired from Sherex/Witco after 33 years in 1995 as a maintenance supervisor. He enjoyed bowling, golfing, and fishing. He was an avid fan of the University of Illinois basketball, St. Louis Cardinals Baseball and Chicago Bears Football. He was also a youth traveling baseball coach for many years.

Cremation rites will be accorded and private burial of his ashes will take place at Foster Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to CIAA Nutrition program, for meal delivery to the elderly.
