Charles “Chuck” Everett Dare

 

Canton – Charles “Chuck” Everett Dare, 68, of Canton, passed away at 12:15 PM on Monday, May 24, 2021 at The Loft after a short battle with cancer. He was born on June 3, 1952 in Canton to William and Rosie (Davidson) Dare. He married Teresa Pierce on July 1, 2005 in Macomb, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Kallina (Rod) Karls of Sauk City, WI and Michael (Jessica Carlson) Strange; five grandchildren, Abi Ries of Montevideo, MN, Matthew Ries of Sauk City, WI, Emily Strange of Canton, Sarah Scribner of Canton, and Katie (Austyn) Terpstra of Rockford; one great grandson, Dylan Terpstra of Canton; one brother, Danny (Helen) Dare of Canton; two nephews, Derek Dare of Pekin and Jeremy (Debbie) Dare of Eureka; and great nieces and nephews, Kennedy and Lincoln Dare of Canton and Rylee and Jacob Dare of Eureka.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Linda Neal and Marie Moffitt.

Chuck graduated from Canton High School in 1970. For many years he worked for Intermet Foundry in Havana and G & D Integrated in Morton, retiring in July of 2019. Chuck was a member of the Shield Chapel United Methodist Church in Canton. He was a cat lover and big supporter of adopting rescued animals. He loved his fur babies, Lexie, Junior, Sage, Jackson, Possum, and Toad.

Chuck served in the United States Army as an M.P. in Aschaffenburg, Germany from 1971-1974

Graveside services with military honors will be held at 10 AM on Friday, May 28, 2021 at Shield’s Chapel Cemetery in rural Canton, IL. Rev. David Meader will officiate. Memorials can be made to the family in care of TBK Bank. To make online condolences you may go to www.sedgwickfuneralhomes.com
