Helen K. Mulligan


Helen K. Mulligan, 90, of Bryant, passed away at 5:15 AM on Monday, November 23, 2020 at her residence with her family by her side. She was born on December 8, 1929 in Peoria, a daughter of Joseph E. and Nellie Mae (Street) Lehnhausen. She married E. Robert Mulligan on June 29, 1947 in Pekin, the love of her life. They had celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary before his passing. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2012.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, one daughter, Katherine, five brothers, Bill, Joseph Jr, George, Richard, Louis; four sisters, Bernice, Dorothy, Marion “Betty”, and Donna.

Surviving are her children, Robert (Cathy) Mulligan of Canton; Sandy (Bob) Barnes of Canton; Cindy (Bob) Howell of St. David; Rhonda (Bob) Bishop of Bryant; Scott (Teresa) Mulligan of Bryant; one brother, Dale “Bud” (Helen) Lehnhausen of Fairview; one sister, Lorraine (John) Grigsby of Canton, and 25 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; three sisters-in-law, Nelda (Lloyd) Wages, Donna (Nelson) Maxwell, Peggy (Mike) McCreight, and one brother-in-law, Fred Mulligan.

Helen enjoyed taking care of her family over the years, as a homemaker. Helen, also, enjoyed camping, crocheting and crafting. She loved playing games, having company, baking which was her specialty.

Graveside services and burial will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Fairview Cemetery in Fairview. Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate. Due to COVID-19 mandates facial coverings will be required.  In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Canton St Mary’s food pantry.
