Irene M. Beadles

Irene M. Beadles, 96, of Lewistown passed away at 11:12 AM Wednesday at Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born July 31, 1924 at rural Ipava the daughter of Sherman and Gertrude (Vaughn) Kruzan. She married Herbert T. Beadles November 2, 1940 at Keokuk, IA. He died July 20, 2011. She was also preceded in death by her parents, a daughter-in-law, Donna Beadles, a son-in-law, Dick Lannery and a grandson-in-law, Brad Fisher. Surviving are one son, Gale Beadles of Lewistown, one daughter, Connie Lannery of Lewistown, one sister, Garnet Workman of Lewistown, five granddaughters, Gina (Jerry) Ray, Jill Bates, Darcy Branan, Carla Fisher and Tracy (Justin) Brown, eight great grandchildren, Ryan and Jacob Ray, Megan (Gary McIntire) Kelly, Tyler and Jeremy Branan, Mindy (Shaun) Hickle, Misty (Zack) Ebey and Eddie Bates, three great great granddaughters, Kayla Ray and Chloe and Brooklyn Hickle and four great great grandsons, Brylan Ray, Marshall Ray, Owen Ray and Cayden King.

Irene was a housewife and lifelong farmer along with her husband. She was a member of the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 women’s auxiliary, the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1 women’s auxiliary and the Fulton County Farm Bureau. Irene was a wonderful mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was an excellent cook and won many ribbons at the Fulton County Fair for her cooking and canning. 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Monday at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown with Reverend Larry Wright officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Social distancing and face masks will be required. There will be no visitation.  Memorial contributions may be made to the Lewistown VFW Post 5001 women’s auxiliary or the Lewistown American Legion Bishop Post 1 women’s auxiliary.
