Robert “Bobby” E. Williams


Canton- Robert “Bobby” E. Williams, 67, of Canton, passed away, Monday, May 25, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

He was born on September 26, 1952, to Robert L., and Margaret (Hayes) WIlliams. They both preceded him in death.

He is survived by one brother, David (Terri) Williams of Canton, one sister Kathrine (Glenn) Armstrong of Canton, three nieces and nephews, Beth Williams, Erika Kisler, and Gabe Kisler, three great nieces and nephews, Rhylend Williams, Cayden Davis, and Emma Copes, four step nieces and nephews, Tara (Tarell) Harris, Miranda (Kevin Herren) Henderson, Ian (Amber) Henderson, and Jennifer (Calder) Walker, and twelve step great nieces and nephews, Alize, Thaiyla, Marley, Jude, Alice, Amelia, Ody, Jai, Elle, Glenn, A.J., and Caleb.

Bobby graduated from Canton Senior High in 1970, after graduating he served an apprenticeship for a tool and dye maker at Caterpillar where he later was employed and eventually retired. He then worked for Felde Machine and Tool and Illinois Machines and Tool Works. He owned Fighting Flats Kennels raising hunting dogs, he later starting riding mules and horses he would travel many miles to trail ride with friends. He was a valued member of the Monterey United Methodist Church, he could always be called on to help in many capabilities. During the current pandemic he has spent many hours calling on his church family and friends to make sure everyone was managing ok and lend a hand as needed.

Due to Covid – 19 Mandates a private graveside service will be held at Walnut Cemetery in Banner. A Facebook livestream will be held on Friday. May 29, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. on “Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory” Facebook page.

Memorials may be made to the Monterey United Methodist Church.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date when permitted.
