Robert A. Delost


Farmington-Robert Andrew “Farmer Bob” Delost, 73, passed away on Saturday, February 29, 2020 surrounded by his family and friends at Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria.

He was born on September 16, 1946 in Peoria to Joseph and Sylvia (Bruketta) Delost.  They preceded him in death along with one sister Kathryn Siebenthal.

He married Lou Ann Ferro on September 23, 1967 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton.

She survives.

Also surviving are two children, Jeff (Tracy) Delost of Norris, Jennifer (James) Mies of Dunlap, four grandchildren, Anthony J. and Izabella Delost and Rachel and Marshall Mies, sister, Barbara (Bill) Brower and brother-in-law, Gary Siebenthal.  Five Nephews, Jered (Veronica) Siebenthal. Joshua (Trina) Siebenthal, Kevin (Brandi) Brower, David Delost, Darron Delost, four nieces, Arin (Gordon) Johnson, Danel Delost, Kim (Danny) Ray and Elizabeth (Gary) Ferro-Nace along with his lifelong close friends, John Dare and D.J. Johnson also survive.

Bob served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the Farmington American Legion.  He was fortunate to have flown on the May of 2017 Honor Flight. He was a self-employed farmer in Fulton County devoting his life to farming and the farming community.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree.  He was also a member of the Fulton County Farm Bureau.

Most of all he was a loving husband, father, grandfather and friend.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2020, from 5-7, at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a recitation of the Rosary at 4:45pm.

A funeral Mass will follow on Wednesday, March 4, 2020 at 10 am, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Canton.

Burial with military honors will follow Mass at St Joseph Cemetery in Canton.

Memorials may be made to Greater Peoria Honor Flight or St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
