Dennis R. Dye


Dennis R. Dye, age 74, of Reedsburg, formerly of Havana, IL, died peacefully on Tuesday, March 18, 2020 surrounded by his family.  He was born on March 5, 1946 in Popular, City, Illinois, the son of “Dutch” and Deloris (Holmes) Dye.  Denny was a veteran of the Vietnam War serving with the U.S. Navy.  On June 27, 1970, he was married to the former Cheryl Scrogum.  Denny worked in numerous foundries for forty years and later for the Reedsburg School District in the building and grounds department as an evening supervisor.  He enjoyed fishing, camping, watching NASCAR and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife: Cheryl; two children: Travis (Heather) Dye, of Mauston and Denise (P.J.) Daniels, of Reedsburg; five grandchildren: Taylor, Braden, Payton, Dawson and Calista; two sisters: Marla (Vernon) Lascelles, of Havana, IL and Peggy (Kenny) Lascelles, of Ipava, IL; one brother: Rick Dye, of Havana, IL; other relatives and friends.  He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother: Tony.

A private family graveside service will be held at the Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana, IL.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Reedsburg Food Pantry would be appreciated.
