Occupation:   Charlie was a mechanic for Bader Motor Company in Astoria for 3 years.  He then went to work for GTE in 1958 and worked for them as a lineman and then technician for 30 years, retiring in 1988.   

Military:         US Army veteran, serving from 1953 to 1955 with a rank of Corporal.  He was stationed in Germany and worked in the motor pool, repairing all types of military vehicles.

Memberships: Maple Avenue Christian Church in Macomb, IL.  He enjoyed woodworking and tinkering with about anything in his workshop.  He even took a locksmith course and began making keys and repairing locks.

Services:   2:00 pm Friday, February 7th, 2020

Place:   Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria, IL

Officiating: Pastor Robert Anderson

Visitation:        1 hour prior to the services on Friday.

Interment: Astoria, Cemetery in Astoria, IL, with military rites provided by the Astoria
American Legion Post #25.

Memorials:   Alzheimer’s Association.
