She was born on August 19, 1938 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, to James and Eileen (Ague) Elam. They preceded her in death.
She married Willis Rilea on August 17, 1957, at the Canton Christian Church. He preceded her in death on January 15, 2019.
Surviving are four children, Debbie (Brian) Barnard, of Durham Missouri, Clinton (Ruth) Rilea, of Farmington, Patty (Darrell) Walker of Canton, and Robert (Julie) Rilea of Havana, Fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one brother, Mike (Debbie) Elam, and two sisters, Cindy (Richard) Johnson and Patty (The Late Bill) Bainter.
Betty worked at Gills as a waitress, she later worked at Children’s Family Services, and Rural Peoria County Counsel and Aging. She enjoyed going to the gambling boat, fishing and camping and spending time with all her grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday February 29, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home In Canton where visitation will be held two hours prior to the service.
A burial of her ashes will be held at Highbridge Cemetery on Friday March 6, 2020 at 11:00 a.m.
Memorials may be made to the K.A.R.E.
