Willis L. Rilea


Canton- Willis L. Rilea, 83, of Canton, passed away Tuesday, January 15, 2019, at his home in Canton.
He was born September 10, 1935, in Canton, to Chester and Jesse M. (Loveland) Rilea.
He married Betty (Elam) on August 17, 1957, at the First Christian Church in Canton, she survives.
Also surviving are four children, Debbie (Brian) Barnard, of Durham Missouri, Clinton (Ruth) Rilea, of Farmington, Patty (Darrell) Walker, and Robert (Julie) Rilea, Fourteen grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren, one brother, Jim (Jacqui) Rilea, two sisters Doris (the late Jerry) Hand, of Hollywood Florida, and Bonnie (the late Lee) Owens, of Galesburg, and one special friend, Jim “Jimbo” Lounsberry.
Preceding him in death are, his parents, two brothers, Bob and Delbert Rilea, and one sister Lila Little.
Willis was a Veteran of the United States Army, serving in the Korean War. He worked for the Kroger Company for 44 years, retiring in 1994. Willis was a Sergeant of the Hanna City Police Department, he worked for Elam’s Detective Service, he was an avid Indianapolis Colts and Atlanta Braves Fan and enjoyed camping and fishing. Most of all he cherished the time he spent with his family.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 6:00 p.m. at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
A Burial will be held on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Highbridge Cemetery in Dunfermline.
