Liverpool – Edward E. Knowles, 55, of Liverpool, passed away on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at his home. He was born on March 8, 1963 in Canton, the son of Arthur Jr. and Patricia (St. Clair) Knowles. He married Lori Ann Dodd on December 26, 1983 in Liverpool. She survives.
Also surviving is his son, Dustin Knowles of Liverpool; two sisters, Dorothy Ishmael of Bartonville and Valerie (the late Roger) Hedges of Canton; one brother, Mark (Joyce) Knowles of Newbury Park, CA; his in laws, Loyd and Ellen Dodd of Fiatt and Gene Wilcoxen of Liverpool; his sisters-in-law, Robin Hibbitts and Martha Danielson; brothers-in-law, Jim Dekker and Jacob (Kelly) Dodd; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his five infant children, Autumn, Angel, Caleb, Mariah, and Edward Knowles Jr.; siblings, Arthur Knowles III and Susan Dekker; his parents; and mother-in-law, Sherrill Wilcoxen.
Ed retired from the United States Air Force on October 31, 2003 with twenty years of service. He was last stationed at Offutt Air Force Base near Bellevue, Nebraska. He was employed for the past fifteen years by the Walmart Super Center on Allen Road in Peoria. He was a huge fan of NASCAR and his favorite driver was the late Davey Allison. HE was a Chicago Bears fan and lived in a house divided – He was a St. Louis Cardinals fan married to a Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed puttering around the house, tinkering with cars, and spending time with his family, including his beloved pets, Smoke and Ozzie.
Services will be held at 1 PM on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Rev. Ellen Dodd will officiate. Burial of ashes with Military Honors will follow the service at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton, IL. A visitation will be held from 5-7 PM on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at the funeral home.
