James D. Pierson


Banner-James D. “Jim” Pierson, 62, passed away on Wednesday, January 23, 2019, at Graham Hospital in Canton.

He was born on September 1, 1956 in Springfield, IL to Phineas and Lacona (Anderson) Pierson.  They preceded him in death.

He married Jenna S. Monn on May 8, 1999 in Groveland, IL.  She survives.

Also surviving are three children, Brandy (Brett) Stevens of Elmwood, Jeremy Pierson of Altona, IL Heather (Jason) Schrodt of Monterey, one step son, Thomas C. Appollonio of Depere, WI, six brothers, Stephen, Randy, Darrell, Frankie, Kenny and Russell, two sisters, Patty and Kathy, ten grandchildren, Brendan, Austin, Caleb, Kaprice, Coulter, Kaley, Bailey, Taylor, Thomas Jr and Kaden and one great granddaughter, Olivia.

Also preceding him in death are three brothers Danny and Raymond and four sisters, Linda, Shirley, Beverly and Karen.

Jim was the owner and operator of Advanced Tree Service which will proudly be continued to be operated by his son Jeremy.  He enjoyed tournament fishing, camping, bowling and attended many NASCAR races.

Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, January 27, 2019 from 1pm-4pm at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton with a funeral service to be held on Monday, at 11 am at the funeral home.  Cremation rites will follow the visitation and a burial of the ashes will be held following the funeral on Monday at the Walnut Cemetery in rural Banner.  The Rev. Perry Cooper will officiate.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
