Doris Litwiller Lock

Doris Litwiller Lock of Farmington, died on October 9, 2016 at Farmington Country Manor. She was born February 24, 1926 on a farm between Delavan and Hopedale, IL, to William and Della (Sutter) Litwiller. She married Donald M. Lock on September 11, 1948 in Kouts, IN. He survives.
Doris attended schools in Winamac and Kouts, IN, being the first one in her family to attend high school. She graduated from Mason City High School, IL, after her family moved there three months before graduation. Doris attended South Bend College of Commerce and worked at R. G. LeTourneau in Peoria, IL. Doris prided herself on her mathematical skills, which she applied to the family farm by doing the bookkeeping and marketing.
Doris was preceded in death by her mother, father, step-mother, Nora (Eichelberger), and son-in-law Thomas Maas. She is survived by son, Dale Lock (Rebecca), Petersburg, daughter, Deon Maas, Farmington, grandchildren Andrew (Evgeniya) and Nathan Lock, Annandale, VA, Elizabeth (Caleb) Klauzer, Jacksonville, IL, Adam (Jenni) Maas, Geneseo, IL, and Jacob Maas, Bellevue, WA, and 7 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings Esther Yordy, Upland, IN, Betty Ulrich, Eureka, IL, Faye Roth, Stronghurst, IL, Edith Erb, Gridley, IL, Kenneth (Mary Faith) Litwiller, Foosland, IL, and Richard (Karen) Litwiller, Goshen, IN. She is also survived by honorary son, Renato Resende, Campos do Jordão, Brazil.
Doris was a member of the Fulton County Homemakers Extension Association for 50 years, the American Sewing Guild, United Methodist Women, and Providence Chapel United Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer for many years. She was an avid reader, loved crossword puzzles, and was a devoted grandmother.
Services will be held at Anderson-Sedgwick Funeral Home, Farmington, on Saturday, October 15 at 11:00 AM with visitation an hour prior. Pastor Deborah Rhodes will officiate. Burial will be at Providence Chapel Coal Creek Cemetery in rural Farmington. Memorials may be made to Providence Chapel United Methodist Church.
