Merle Wayne Stockman

Merle Wayne Stockman, 77, of Canton, passed away at 4:05 PM on Tuesday, May 13, 2025 at Farmington Village in Farmington, IL. He was born on March 17, 1948, to Harry and Jessie (Rilea) Stockman.

He is survived by one brother, Forrest "Frosty" Stockman; one sister, Sharon Smith, and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents; three brothers; and seven sisters.

Merle was an avid car collector. He enjoyed going to Goodwill in Canton. He was very generous to kids to make sure they had a nice Christmas. He was also known as Merle the Legend.

Graveside service will be held at 1:00 PM on Sunday, May 18, 2025 at Bethel Cemetery in rural Canton, IL. Pastor Larry Fitch will officiate. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. To leave an online condolence you may go to www.sedgwickfuneralhomes.com
