Janet M. Whitney

Janet M. Whitney, 69, of Lewistown, passed away at 12:13 AM on Friday, May 23, 2025, at Richard L. Owens Hospice House in Peoria. Janet was born on October 26, 1955, in Canton, Illinois, to Harvey Vaughn and Irene Harper. She married Rick Whitney on September 23, 1972. He survives.

Surviving Janet are her children, Chrissy (Clint) Sours of Lewistown and Candi (Josh) Miller of Lewistown; grandchildren Jainee Sours, Rhett Sours, and Zack Miller; sisters Debbie Watson, Vickie (Randy) Towery, and Valerie (Kevin) Alwood; brother Danny Vaughn proceeds her in death.

Janet was a bookkeeper for Whitney Construction. She enjoyed leisure activities such as walking, reading, observing birds, and tending to flowers in her garden.
