Linda L. Bailey, 88, of Havana, passed away at Mason District Hospital, in Havana, at 8:44 a.m., on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. She was born November 6, 1936, in Havana, to Herbert and Avis May (Dobson) Dye. She married Paul Huston Bailey in Springfield, Tennessee, on December 3, 1951 and spent 73 beautiful years with the love of her life.
Mrs. Bailey is survived by her husband, Paul, of Havana; four children: Paul “Doug” (Janet) Bailey, of Springfield, Illinois, Steven (Anna) Bailey, of Washington, Illinois, James (Richard Knight Jr.) Bailey, of Chicago, Illinois, and Jodi (Jamie) Skaggs, of Havana; eight grandchildren: Christopher, Hattie, Jessica, Joel, Tyler, Bailey, Drake, and Avery; as well as five great-grandchildren: Ella, Eva, Eli, Emily, and Tate Huston. Also surviving are five siblings: Judy Richardson, Mary Kolves, Kenneth Dye, Michael Dye, and Allen Dye. She was preceded in death by her parents, and five siblings: Valera Middleton, Barbara Bohanan, Grover “Buck” Dye, Louis Dye, and Gary Dye.
Mrs. Bailey was a lifelong farmer. She enjoyed word search puzzles, the Gameshow Network, and cooking for her family and friends.
