She married Frank “John” Brentrup Jr. on July 6, 1979. He was the Love of her life. He preceded her in death in 2016.

One thing is for sure, Barb’s love for her children and grandchildren was unwavering and they were her world; she loved them fiercely. Barb enjoyed playing Bingo, having poker nights with her family, and going on family vacations, especially to the beach. She would often be found cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers. She will be greatly missed for her quick wit and strong political views. She was kindhearted, hardworking, and would do anything for her family. Barb adored her sweet Chihuahua “puppy” dog and her two Basset Hounds Wilbur and Georgie. She was also known as “Nanny” to her grand-dog's Stewart and Opie.
