He was born on July 7, 1943 in Canton to Claude and Ruby (Bollinger) Bohannan.
Surviving are his children, Julie Bohannan of Canton, Michelle (Kenny) Oldfield of Farmington, one sister, Hazel (Jack) Brown of Farmington, two grandchildren, Brett (Chelsea) Oldfield, Tyler Oldfield, one great grandchild, Luke Oldfield and Lester’s companion, Ruth Blodgett with whom he made his home.
Preceding him in death were his parents, one brother, Loren Bohannan and one sister, Gladys Mutz.
Lester served in the U.S. Army 101st Air Borne Division. He retired from Caterpillar Tractor Company. After his retirement he worked for the City of Farmington and lastly, he drove a school bus for the Farmington School District. He was a member of the Farmington American Legion Post #140. Lester’s hobbies included hunting, fishing, golfing and the St Louis Cardinals.
A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 20, 2024 at 11 am at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton with a visitation held one hour prior at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will follow at the Oak Ridge Cemetery in Farmington.
Memorials may be made to the Farmington Rescue Squad.
