Carl L. Denham, 83, of Cuba, went to be in the arms of Jesus at 7:45 am Wednesday August 21, 2024 at Farmington Village.
He was born July 29, 1941 at Mt. Vernon, the son of Varl and Evelyn (Weld) Denham. He married Monica > Cavanagh on February 28, 1966 at Brockton, MA. She died January 8, 2016. He later married Lydia Glasgow on June 11, 2017 at Cuba. She survives with two children, Daniel (Melissa) Denham of Bryant, Catherine (Michael) Doubleday of Cuba, seven step children, Shelly (Chris) Carlin of Cuba, Laura Glasgow of Cuba, Sarah (Mathew) Lillie of Cuba, Patty Glasgow of Terra Haute, IN; Lois Glasgow of Evanston, Franklin Glasgow of Carbondale, and May Ann Ferza of Phoenix, AZ; three grandchildren, Aaron Todd, Zechariah and Ava Denham, two great grandchildren, Victoria Todd and Charles Denham, and five step grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one daughter, Cheryl Denham, one brother, and one sister.
Carl was a Vietnam veteran serving 19 years in the Coast Guard. He had worked at Caterpillar, and owned and operated several businesses over the years. He was a bus driver for Cuba School district for many years. He was also a minister and had served the Ellisville Nazarene Church. He was a member of the Gideons, Cuba Lions club, and the Cuba American Legion.
Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be held at 11 am Tuesday August 27, 2024 at the Cuba Church of the Nazarene where visitation will be held from 9-11 am. Pastor Don Southard and Pastor Cory Wyant will officiate. A dinner will be provided at the church following the service. Burial of ashes will be in Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, IL at a later date.
