Mack was a warrior from the moment he was born on August 8, 2023. He battled many medical complications and major surgeries during his 259 days in the NICU and PICU at OSF St Francis in Peoria, IL, after his birth. After his discharge, Mack spent his days cuddling with mom, playing with dad, and being ornery with his brother.
Mack is survived by his parents, Parker and Kaselyn (Hart) Gibbs; twin brother, Theodore; maternal grandparents, Anthony and Diana (Tribby) Hart; and paternal grandparents, Garry and Lori (Grossman) Gibbs. He is also survived by three great-grandparents, Becky Tribby, Bob Hart, and Sheryl Hart; Aunt Anna; Uncle Justin; Aunt Abby; Uncle Eli; Aunt Holly; Uncle Mat; Uncle Cory; Aunt Olivia; his Lulu (Aunt Lily); and cousins, Avery, Maggie, Apollos, and Grayson, who all loved him very much.
Mack was a bright light. His smile was infectious and his personality was the sweetest. No matter what battle he was facing, he was happy and brave. He brought joy to everyone who had the chance to see his smile, big blue eyes, and long, long eyelashes. He loved Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, his toy DJ Bouncin’ Beats, all kinds of music, and being around his family.
A memorial service will be held at Northwoods Community Church on Tuesday, September 3, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., with a reception following.
We would like to thank the staff at OSF St. Francis for their care of our sweet boy. You helped to make his short life here a little more enjoyable.
Donations can be made in Mack’s name to the OSF St. Francis Congenital Heart Center.
