Ann M. Glunz (nee Marchesi), 90, of Lewistown, IL formerly of Toluca, passed away Friday, August 23, 2024 at Carle Health Methodist Hospital in Peoria.
Ann was born October 29, 1933 in Toluca, IL, the daughter of Primo and Paulina (Guidotti) Marchesi. She married Winfred “John” Glunz on November 22, 1952. John preceded her in death on June 30, 2018. Surviving are their children, John (Debbie) Glunz of Pekin, Roxane Hartle of Lewistown, Paula (Marty) Pickrel of Lewistown, Glenda Ziegler of Loveland, CO and Bill Glunz of Des Moines, IA; eight grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one sister, Virginia Mobeck of Pekin and a host of nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, a sister, one great grandson and a son-in-law.
Ann worked in the gift store at Dickson Mounds Museum and later as a sales associate at the Robbins Clothing Store in Lewistown, retiring with over twenty years of service at Robbins. An excellent cook, Ann was known for her homemade ravioli and gnocchi. She enjoyed spending time with family playing cards, Yahtzee and Aggravation. She rolled more Yahtzee’s than the rest of the family combined. Ann took great pride in her family and they were proud to call her Mom, Grandma Ann, Great Grandma and Aunt Annie.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, August 27th at 1:00 pm in the Oak Hill Cemetery, Lewistown. Per Ann’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society. To send online condolences visit henrylange.com.
