Joni Butler, 69, was born on April 4, 1955 and passed away on August 18, 2024 after a struggle with advanced-stage Parkinson’s disease. She was born and raised in Lewistown, IL. She worked as a programmer at Jostens in Owatonna, MN then at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN.
Joni shared her home with a number of wonderful cats over the years and owned a successful cat sitting business in the Rochester area.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clifford and Rosemary Butler. Joni is survived by brother and sister-in-law Vic and Denise Butler, niece Amanda Gregory, nephew Nickolas Butler, and partner Steve Boeke.
The family would like to thank staff at Rochester West Health Services, and Mayo hospice staff, for the care they provided for Joni.
A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 26, 2024, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 25, 2024, in the River Park Chapel at Macken Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service on Monday.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Wednesday, August 28th, 2024, at the Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown, Illinois.
