Vernon D. Nichols, 75, of Farmington, passed away, Saturday, August 24, 2024, at his home in Farmington.
He was born in Dyess Arkansas, to Gordon “Dale” and Martha “Betty” (Sornson) Nichols. They preceded him in death.
He is survived by two brothers, Jimmy Nichols, and Rodney (Cathy) Nichols, two sisters, Kay (the late Bob) Faralli, and Carol (Terry) Dicks.
Vernon retired from Caterpillar in 2001. He first worked in East Peoria in the tool room at HH. He later went to Mossville in the tech center. In his younger years, Vernon enjoyed photography when he traveled out west. He also enjoyed playing foosball, and later golfing.
Memorials may be made to the Farmington Rescue Squad or to the Farmington Food Bank.
Cremation rites will be accorded. His ashes will be buried at Trivoli Cemetery at a later date.
