James L. Kuharich

James L. Kuharich, 90, of Canton, passed away at 8:23 am, January 25, 2024 at Red Oak Estates in Canton. He was born on October 9, 1933 in Canton to Frank Sr. and Paulina (Cencic) Kuharich. He married Patricia Pearson on December 26, 1953 in Canton. She preceded him in death on January 21, 2024, along with his parents, one son Mark Kuharich and one brother Frank Jr. ‘Frankie” Kuharich.

Surviving is one daughter Gina Anne (Dan) Sandman of Lewistown and one granddaughter Molly Sandman.

Jim graduated from Canton High School in 1951 where he was a proud Little Giant basketball player. He served in the US Army from 1953-1955. He was a life time member of Canton VFW and American Legion. Upon returning to Canton, he owned and operated Jim and Larry’s Barber Shop for over 50 years.

The family would like to thank Red Oak Estates and Transitions Hospice for the care they provided to Jim and Pat.

Cremation rites will be accorded with the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton. A private family service and burial of ashes at St. Josephs Cemetery will take place at a later date.
