She was born August 15, 1959 at Canton, the daughter of Harvey and Barbara (Whiteman) Johnson Sr. She married Larry Nebergall on May 31, 1980 at Canton. He survives with two children, Jeremy (Kalie) Nebergall and Lindsey Nebergall both of Lewistown, two grandchildren, Brady and Brooklyn Nebergall, four brothers, Harvey Johnson Jr. of Canton, Daniel (Cheryle) Johnson of Lewistown, Rick (Rhonda) Johnson of Lewistown, and Jim Johnson of Lewistown, three sisters, Ellie Vaughn of Lewistown, Barbara (Woody) Moore of Canton, and Melannie (Doug) Jallas of Chandlerville. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two sisters, Christina Stephens and Melissa Arnett.
Cheryle was a 1977 graduate of Lewistown High School and had also attended Spoon River College. She retired from SC 2. She was an avid Cubs fan all her life. She adored her pets and loved her family and grandkids tremendously.
Cremation will be accorded. A memorial service will be held at 12 noon Tuesday January 9, 2024 at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown with Pastor Mike Arnett officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to services. Burial of ashes will immediately follow the memorial service at Oak Hill Cemetery.
