Chad A. Bent

Chad A. Bent, 46, of Astoria, IL, passed away at 11:35 am on Wednesday, December 27, 2023 at his home. He was born on July 19, 1977 in Rushville, IL, the son of Dickie and Sandra (Creech) Bent. Chad married Michelle Storr on July 6, 2019 in Fulton County, IL. She survives.

Also surviving are his four sons; Andrew Bent of Lewistown, IL, Charlie Bent of Astoria, Zain Pemberton of Havana, IL, and Cooper Bent of Astoria, two bonus sons, one bonus daughter, parents; Dickie and Sandy Bent of Browning, IL, one brother; Caleb (and Jennifer) Bent of Astoria, and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents on both sides of his family.

Chad worked in Server Management at Western Illinois University. He previously worked at Spoon River College, Lewistown School District, JBS in Beardstown, IL, Stevens Publishing Company in Astoria, and L & N Industries in Rushville. Chad also served as a volunteer fireman for the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.

He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, all types of gaming, music and playing the guitar. He loved family events, especially “Bentstock”, and loved his children dearly.

Cremation rites have been accorded. A visitation will take place from 5 to 7 pm on January 3, 2024 at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorials may be made to the Astoria Fire and Rescue Squad.
