She was born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois, on November 28, 1928, to Arthur and Della (Payne) Densmore. They preceded her in death as well as one brother Ray Densmore, and one sister Betty Collins.
Ramona married Jack W. Furgerson I on May 15, 1948. He also preceded her in death in 1974.
Surviving are her two children, Robin (Frank) Donath of Elmwood, and Jack W. (Lori) Furgerson II of Chillicothe, five grandchildren, Eric (Kathy) Donath, Jack (Kelly) Furgerson, Heidi Donath, Joe Furgerson, and Hollie (Rod) Cahill, several great grandchildren, and a few great great grandchildren.
Ramona worked for Barney Gavenda at his scrap yard starting in the late 50’s, she later purchased the scrap yard under the name Gavenda Iron and Metal and operated it until she retired in the late 80’s. Later in life she enjoyed preparing taxes with her sister Betty. Ramona was an excellent cook; her homemade noodles and French Onion Soup will be dearly missed. She enjoyed fishing and playing poker, but most of all she enjoyed attending all of her grandchildren’s events. She held a very special bond with her daughter Robin, and she cherished all the time she was able to spend with all her family.
A private service will be held. She will be buried with her husband at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton.
Memorials may be made to Shriner’s Children’s Hospital or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
