He was born on December 20, 1942 in Glasford to Cecil and Mary (Decker) Sweet.
He married Sandra Eskew on June 8, 1961 in Bartonville. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, David W. (Judith) Sweet of Glasford, Brian Sweet of Glasford, five grandchildren, Timothy Rushing, David Michael Gannaway-Sweet, Ryan Sweet, Cassi McCarthy and Brenen Sweet and six great grandchildren.
David worked for CILCO at the Duck Creek Station for 37 years retiring on June 1, 1999. He attended Faith Missionary Church in Bartonville. He loved to hunt and fish but most of all he was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton and a celebration of his life will be held at a later date.
Memorials may be made to St Jude Children’s Hospital or to Faith Missionary Church.
