He was born on October 27, 1951 in Canton to Gilbert and Ruby (Potts) Pollitt. They preceded him in death along with one brother, Dennis Pollitt.
Surviving is his niece, Missi (Sam) Thomas of Abingdon, great nieces, Velvet (Patrick Lawrence) Thomas, Josey (James Harris) Thomas, Londyn Thomas, great great nieces and nephews, Dre, Jur-ney, Justyce and Luna.
Stuart made a career serving in the armed forces, first in the Army and later in the Navy. He was an avid coin collector, signed Cubs baseballs and was a military historian. He enjoyed spending time with his friends at Jack’s. The family would like to extend a thank you to Reliable Cab for taking good care of Stuart.
Cremation rites have been accorded through Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton.
A military service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 11 am, at Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
Memorials may be made to Senior Transportation.
