She was born on March 23, 1953, in Canton, to Lucian “Buzz” and Ruth (Nichols) Morse. They preceded her in death along with one brother Ronald Morse.
She is survived by three children, JoLynn White, Melynda (Andy) McKeever, and Reagan (Angel) Coats, one grandchild whom she raised, Zakkary Scherer, two sisters, Roberta (the late Larry) Durbin, and Sue (Kenny) Fleisher, seven grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Reta grew up on her father’s farm in Cramer as a child. She later graduated from Farmington high School and then graduated with an associate’s degree in computer programming, from Spoon River College. She worked many years as a computer programmer. Later she worked at Heritage Bank in Trivoli, and lastly as bookkeeper until she retired in 2019. She enjoyed flowers, music, crocheting, and crafts with her grandchildren, Anika, Camden and Maya. She was a very talented musician; she could teach herself to play any instrument she picked up. She dedicated most of her musical talents to playing the cornet. Reta also enjoyed watching baseball and softball on television and attending all of her children and grandchildren’s events. Most of all Reta was a lifelong Christian woman who was dedicated to be the best mother grandmother and friend she could be and enjoyed every moment she was able to spend with each of them.
Cremation rites will be accorded with Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton.
