John D. "Davey" Newman

John D. Newman “Davey”, 78, of Bushnell, passed away at 8:16 am, Sunday, July 23, 2023 at his residence. He was born on April 19, 1945 in Anna, IL to James R. and Jeanet (Morford) Newman. He married Pamela R. Munson on December 16, 1977.

Surviving are three daughters; Lora K. (late Joe) Horne of Vassar, KS, Julie A. (Robert) Moses of Washington, IL, and Lisa F. (Clifford) Darcy of Jackson, MO, brother Larry (Karen) Newman of East Peoria, sister Kay (Terry) Dwyer of Pekin, seven grandchildren; Amanda Grady, Matthew Boley, Sarah Boley, Kelsie Gibson, Miranda Phillips, Amanda Inman and Megan Blair, fourteen great-grandchildren and the love of his life, his dog Sandy.

He was preceded in death by his parents and brother James R. Newman Jr.

John retired from Caterpillar Inc. after 30 years of service and later drove for Lewistown Ag. and Ryden Trucking. He was a member of the Moose Lodge #916 and AMVETS and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He also rode motorcycles and horses.
