Bryon J. Shoop

Bryon J. Shoop, 66, of Canton, passed away, Wednesday, June 28, 2023, at his home in Canton. He was born on March 21, 1957, in Canton to Charles and Patricia (Bennett) Shoop. They preceded him in death. He is survived by one brother Bill (Mary) Shoop, one niece Natalie (Matthew) Shoop – Travis. Bryon graduated from Canton High School in 1975. He later graduated from Spoon River College in 1977 as a diesel mechanic. He worked for Fliginger Equipment in Trivoli for over 40 years. He was an avid Nascar and Chicago Bears fan and never missed watching a race or game. A Friday ritual for Bryon was getting the tenderloin at B’s Drive Inn. A memorial service will be held at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton on Wednesday, July 5, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will immediately follow the service at Red School Cemetery in Canton. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Spoon River College Diesel and Power Systems Technology Program.
