He was born July 6, 1945 at Canton the son of Frank and Mary (Presley) Atchley. Surviving are two sons, Jeff Atchley of rural Lewistown and Aaron (Cindy Dainty) Atchley of Havana, two brothers, Dick (Pauline) Atchley of rural Lewistown, and John (Carol) Atchley of Indiana, eleven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and two brothers.
James worked at International Harvester in Canton, he also farmed and drove a semi hauling heavy equipment all over the U.S. Jim also owned Atchley’s Apple Orchard and was a bulldozer operator and did a lot of excavating. He attended Waterford Union Church at rural Lewistown. James enjoyed tractor pulling, flying remote control airplanes, and shooting guns.
A graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM Friday July 28th at Waterford Cemetery with Pastor Paul Walmsley officiating. Burial will follow at Waterford Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
