Jasey Marie Endres

Fairview - Jasey Marie Endres, 23, passed away on Sunday, March 27, 2022 in North Carolina.

She was born on June 26, 1998 in Peoria to Jason and Kari (Tompkins) Endres. They survive.
Also surviving are two sisters, Kylee and Erin Endres, one nephew, Malakai Patterson, maternal grandparents, Janet Tompkins of Cuba, Ransom Tompkins of Fairview, paternal grandparents Kevin and Trisha Endres of Fairview, paternal great grandparents Tinker and Joy Thompson of Fairview and her loving Westiepoo, T.J.
Jasey worked as the lead Beauty Advisor for Belk Department Store in Goldsboro, N.C. She had a passion for music and was always dancing and singing into her random make-believe microphones. She had developed a skill for cooking and enjoyed sending pictures of her creations. Jasey also had a green thumb and lovingly cared for her plants in her home. Most of all Jasey loved spending time with her family, friends and her boyfriend, Noah.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, April 9, 2022 at the Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton from 10-noon with a funeral service to follow at noon.
Burial will be held following the funeral at the Fairview Cemetery.

Marian F. Carithers

Marian F. Carithers, age 88 of Vermont, Illinois, passed away at 8:15 am on Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Macomb Post Acute Care Center in Macomb, Illinois. She was born on March 4, 1934 in Schuyler County, Illinois, the daughter of Roscoe and Frances (Kinne) Derry. She was first married to George E. Johnson. She later married Cay Carithers.

She was preceded in death by three brothers; Franklin Derry, Marvin Derry and Gerald Derry and four sisters; Betty Derry, Patsy Derry, Phyllis Waugh and Judy Parks.

Marian is survived by two daughters, Karen Frederick of Vermont, Illinois and Georgia (and Curt) Richmond of Independence, Oregon, one son C.B. (and Christina) Carithers of Corinth, Mississippi, five grandchildren; Chad (and Ashley) Frederick, Jason (and Stephanie) Richmond, Airion Carithers, Cheyanne Carithers, and Keisha Carithers, nine great-grandchildren; Ethan, Gabriel and Christian Frederick, Sam and Henry Richmond, and Quenton, Castiel, Autumn and Dominic Carithers, two sisters, Evelyn Lacey of Junction City, Kansas and Joyce (and Doug) Wright of Tucson, Arizona and her brother Eldon Derry of Industry, Illinois.

Marian was a cook for the VIT School District in Table Grove, Illinois for years. She also worked at Webster Industries in Macomb, Illinois and for Lutheran Social Services in Home Healthcare.

She attended the Astoria Christian Church. She enjoyed playing Bing and Bunco, doing puzzles, and gardening. She lived a quiet life.

Services will be held at Shawgo Memorial Home in Astoria at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 7, 2022. Pastor Gary Sheets will officiate. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Thursday. Interment will be in the Phillips Cemetery in rural Schuyler County. Memorials may be made in Marian’s memory to the Vermont Fire and Rescue Squad.

Fairy "Ann" Avery

Fairy "Ann" Avery, 80, of Elmwood, passed away at 9:05 a.m., on Sunday, April 3, 2022, in Elmwood surrounded by her family. She was born on August 27, 1941, in Quincy, IL, to Robert and Fairy (Bostic) Johnston. She married Walter E. Avery, Jr., on August 28, 1993. He survives.

Also surviving are her three children, Larry (Angie) Shideman of Elmwood, Julie (David) Wagner of Elmwood, and Jackie (Tim) Harms of Elmwood; three step-children, Walter E. Avery, III, David Avery, and Amanda (Greg) Avery-Klein; one son-in-law, Bryan Coulter: two brothers, John Johnston and Steve Johnston; three sisters, Deb Miars, Mary Bell, and Cindy McIntyre; ten grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Ruby Coulter; one infant son, Keith Wyman; and one brother, Ronnie Johnston.
Ann and her daughter, Ruby, owned and operated The Lunchbox for several years. Ann was also a Crossing Guard for Elmwood School District #322 for 19 years. In honor of Ann's dedicated service, there is an honorary memorial sign at the corner of Ash and Magnolia.
Per her wishes, there will be no services. A private burial of ashes at Elmwood Township Cemetery and a Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.

Eileen Zimmerman

Cuba- Eileen Zimmerman, 80, of Cuba, passed away at 4:59 am Saturday April 2, 2022 at Graham Hospital.

She was born June 2, 1941 at rural Colchester, the daughter of James Otho and Dorothy Melinda (Hoyt) Holstine. She married Howard Clark on April 10, 1960 and he died in 1991. She later married John Zimmerman on December 19, 1992. He survives with six children, Brad (Patricia) Clark of Chicago, John (Rhonda) Zimmerman of Oregon, IL; Brent (Hilda) Clark of Anchorage, AK; Shawn McCue of Venice, FL; Julie (Doug) Thomas of Marietta, and Sonya Clark of Canton, 20 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren, a brother in-law, Fred (Gloria) Caspall of Macomb, and three sisters, Beth (Jerry) Biswell of Carthage, Nancy (Dick) Lacy of Colchester, and Evelyn (Orval) Hagon of Colchester. She was preceded in death by her parents, a niece, Debi Caspall Thurow, and a sister, Eloise Caspall.

Eileen taught 5th grade at Bushnell Grade School for many years, and had also worked as a beautician. She was a member of the Fiatt Christian Church, and a member of Chapter CB P.E.O. She was one of the founders and an active member of the Cuba Cares organization.

Services will be held at 10:30 am Thursday April 7, 2022 at Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Cuba, where visitation will be held from 5-7 pm Wednesday April 6, 2022. James "Jim" L. Dawson

James "Jim" L. Dawson, 81, of Elmwood, passed away at 2:50 p.m., on Friday, April 1, 2022, at Country Comfort in Elmwood.

He was born July 23, 1940, in Peoria County, IL, to Chester and Isabelle (Rushing) Dawson. Jim married Mary McBeth on February 6, 1959, at the Elmwood United Methodist Church's parsonage. She preceded him in death on April 20, 2021.
He is survived by three children, Denise (Ricky) Clark of Lawrenceburg, TN, Kathy (Bob) Hamby of Elmwood, and Mark (Rhonda) Dawson of Farmington; two brothers, Larry (Cheri) Dawson and Robert "Bob" (Norma) Dawson; six grandchildren; and twelve great-grandchildren.
He is also preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter.
Jim was a Steamfitter for Local #353 for over 50 years. He was also a former volunteer for the Elmwood Fire Department where he served as a Captain for many years. He was a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge #363 and an active member of the Elmwood United Methodist Church. He was also a diehard Cubs and Bears fan.
Masonic rites and funeral services will be held at noon, on Saturday, April 9, 2022, at the Elmwood United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held prior to the service, from 10:00 p.m. to 12:00 p.m., at the church. Burial will immediately follow the service at Elmwood Township Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to B.Y.E. Ambulance, Elmwood Fire Department, or the Elmwood United Methodist Church.

Betty J. Gibboney

Lewistown- Betty Jean Gibboney, 95, of Lewistown passed away Sunday morning April 3, 2022 at Elmhurst Memorial Hospital in Elmhurst IL.

She was born Betty Jean Lester, February 17, 1927 in Lewistown. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother. Surviving are one son, Philip (Linda) Gibboney of Chicago, one sister, Marianne Hayes of Lewistown, and four grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday April 8, 2022 at the First Presbyterian Church of Lewistown with Pastor Penny Frame officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lewistown. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Henry-Lange Memorial Home in Lewistown is assisting the family with arrangements. Anthony "Tony" Dworak

Canton - Anthony "Tony" J. Dworak, 61, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2022 at his residence.

He was born on February 16, 1961 in Canton to Marion and Viola (Carlstrom) Dworak. They preceded him in death along with one brother Darren and one sister, Janice Royer.
Surviving are his children, Joseph (Lindsey) Dworak of Canton, Jillian Dworak of Las Vegas, NV, one sister, Ann Murdock of Williamsfield and three grandchildren, Zooey Abbuhl, Gracelynn Abbuhl and Sylas Dworak.
Tony worked for International Harvester in Canton and lastly for ALCOA in Princeville. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge AF & AM. He enjoyed to hunt and fish. His true passion was his carving, paintings and selling his work on the Spoon River Drive.
