Robert L. Davis

Robert L. "Bob" Davis, 76, of Manito, surrounded by his family was called to his heavenly home at 12:27 p.m., on Thursday, April 3, 2025. He was born June 16, 1948, in Peoria, Illinois, to Marion and Florence (DeWitt) Davis. He married Barbara Lawson on July 26, 1969 at Spring Lake Missionary Church, near Manito. She survives.

Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara, of Manito; two daughters: Nikki Davis and Wendy Davis, both of Manito; two grandchildren: Jonah Evans and Jace Evans, both of Manito; sister-in-law, Dolly Davis, of Morton; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Hiram, Delwin, and William Davis, and son-in-law, Shawn Clancy.


Bob was a member of Spring Lake Missionary Church, where he was very involved, serving on the church board, and as a Sunday School teacher. His faith and church family were very important to him. After graduation from East Peoria High School in 1966, he worked for Caterpillar Inc. for the next ten years. He was an avid lover of music especially The Beatles. He enjoyed watching baseball, playing chess with friends, and often talked about the many cars he owned over the years especially his 1966 Stingray Corvette.


A memorial service will be held at his church on Thursday, April 10, 2025 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the services. Burial will follow the services at Meadowlawn Cemetery, in Manito. Mr. Dale Burks will officiate.
