Dorothy A. Weaver, 84, of Havana, passed away on Sunday, March 30, 2025 at the Lodge in Manito at 8:01 a.m. She was born on May 7, 1940 in Bluff City, Illinois to John and Esther (Baum) Dutton. On September 1, 1961 in Lewistown, she married Jimmie Lee Weaver who preceded her in death.Dorothy is survived by two sons, J.D. (Sherilyn) Weaver of Havana and John (Megan) Weaver of Havana; three grandsons, Dylan, Nicholas, and Jadyen Weaver; one great-grandson, Jase Weaver; and two sisters, Norma Williams and Pam Burgett.
Dorothy was a 1958 graduate of Rushville High School. She worked for the State of Illinois in Springfield until the birth of her first child.
Dorothy’s greatest joy came from helping raise her three grandsons. She was the heart and soul of her family. Dorothy’s love, unwavering dedication, support, and countless sacrifices will forever be remembered and will endure for generations.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. at Hurley Funeral Home in Havana, with a visitation one hour prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow the service at Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana, alongside her husband.
