Ronald Lee Stout

Lewistown, IL - Ron Stout, 72, went peacefully to the great hunting ground on Sunday, October 17, 2021 at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL. He was born in Springfield, IL on June 10, 1949. He married Phyllis Berry on June, 11 1988.

Ron was an avid trapper and huntsman, with a passion for being outdoors. He was a member of the Illinois Trapper's Association and Whitetail Unlimited. He donated to various veteran's foundations as his father was a veteran and a purple heart recipient. In his spare time, Ron liked to sharpen knives, piddle around in his shed, and host cook-outs for family and friends. His famous baked beans were always present. Ron liked to have family Thanksgiving and Christmas to spend time with his many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He could always be seen sporting a bandana tied around his head, with a flannel shirt in the Winter, and a t-shirt with the sleeves hacked off in the summer time. He never turned down an opportunity to go shooting, and he was pretty good at it too. Anyone who knew Ron knew he was simple man, with simple pleasures, and it was not hard to please him at all, as it sure was easy to get him all riled up too. He spent many nights at the kitchen table, always happy to chat with any of his family members that stopped by for a bit. Ron cooked at the VFW often, and was a familiar face to those who had been in Lewistown for as long as he had.
Ron's wife Phyllis survives. Also surviving are his sister Judy Bissett of Peoria, IL; his children Toby Stout (Marcia Stevenson) of Montreal, MO, Jamy (Philip) Perkins of Ozark, MO, Josh (Angela) Stout of Kilbourne, IL, Ron's Step-children Kelly (Paul) Walmsley of Lewistown, IL, Bobbi (Rick) Thompson of Ipava, IL. Ron's Seven Grandchildren that he loved very much; Zachary, Allison, Morgan, Kaleb, Hannah, Hayden, Khloe, Zoey and his two great-grandchildren Maddilyn and Brooks. Ron also had many step-grandchildren; SheAnna, Kelsey, Amy, Nathan, Daniel, Jeff, Alicia, and great step-grandchildren Colton, Revyn, Camdyn, Selah, Ephriam, Huck, Beau, and Gavin that he loved very much. He was very close to Jeff.
Ron was preceded in death by his father Leonard Stout, Brother Curtis Augustus (Gus) Williams, his daughter Jody Heye and his step-daughter Vicki Rich.
There will be a private graveside service for family only at the Kilbourne cemetery in Kilbourne, IL on Saturday, November 20, 2021, officiated by Pastor Brian Lesemann. There will be a celebration of Life on the same day at the Lewistown, IL VFW at Noon. Food will be provided. If any flowers or monetary donations wished to be made, please have them sent to the VFW of Lewistown.
From Ron's big, blended, extended family- We will miss you old man.
