Canton - Anita Fraikes, 78, passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 at the OSF St Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington.
She was born on November 8, 1942 in Canton to Quentin and Charlene (Wright) Bath. They preceded her in death.She married Larry Fraikes on December 15, 1976 in Canton. He preceded her in death on March 3, 2017.
Surviving is her son Nelson (Cynthia) Kirkham of Davenport IA, step children, Gene (Frank Mazzo) Fraikes of Azle, TX, Carol (Mike) Poindexter of Canton, Dennis (Shannon) Fraikes of Chillicothe, Chris (Kevin) Lester of St Charles, IL, twelve grandchildren, eight great grandchildren, one great great grandchild and several nieces and nephews.
Also preceding her in death are three sisters and two grandchildren.
Anita worked as a secretary at Caterpillar Tractor Company in Peoria for 30 years retiring in May of 1994. She enjoyed playing golf with her husband, needlepoint, reading and spending time with her dog, Arlie.
Services will be 2:30 pm, Friday, November 5, 2021 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton, where visitation will be 1 hour prior to services. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton.
