Canton – Sharon L. Kahoun, 78, of Canton, passed away at 4:49 AM on Wednesday, June 2, 2021 at The Loft in Canton, IL. She was born on April 20, 1943 in Norris, IL to Harrison “Mitch” and Mary (Steagall) Mitchell. She married David J. Kahoun on August 14, 1965 in Canton, IL. He preceded her in death on March 14, 2021.
Sharon is also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Gene Kahoun, and sister, Beverly Fonseca.
She is survived by two sons, David “Ed” Kahoun of Canton, IL, and Kevin (Rendi) Kahoun of Jonesboro, Arkansas; five grandchildren, Eric, Will, John, Sam, and Kate all of Jonesboro, Arkansas.
Sharon was a nurse’s aide for Graham Hospital, and a Secretary at the Canton Township Office. She enjoyed reading and loved spending time with her family and grandkids.
Per Sharon’s wishes, cremation rites will be accorded through Sedgwick Funeral Homes & Crematory in Canton, IL. Burial of ashes will be held in Greenwood Cemetery in Canton, IL at a later date.
