Bobby “Bob” C. Mace


Canton – Bobby “Bob” C. Mace, 89, of Canton passed at 1:49 pm on Sunday, November 10, 2019.  He was born on June 2, 1930 in Canton to Carlos M. and Beatrice (Sutliff) Mace.  They preceded him in death.

He married Lois Lorraine Raker on September 8, 1956 in Pontiac.  She preceded him in death on May 9, 2008.

Surviving are three sons; Robin (Ann) Mace of Cleveland, Ohio, Kevin (Tammy) Mace of Dahlonga, Georgia, and Steven Mace of Canton, four grandsons; Thomas (Sally) Mace, Alex Mace, Scott Antrim, and Alex Antrim, four great-grandchildren; Jonathan, Landen, Caitlyn, and Tori, one sister Donna (Mace) Sarff, and one sister-in-law Charlotte (Raker) Stambaugh.

One sister Melba (Mace) King and Jack Mace also preceded him in death.

Bob served four years (1955-1959) in the US Air Force.  He retired in 1990 from the Travelers Insurance Company.  Bob and the 1948 Canton High School basketball team were inducted in the Canton Hall of Fame.  He was a member of the Wesley United Methodist Church in Canton.

Services will be 2:30 pm Thursday, November 14, 2019 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be one hour prior to services.
