Canton - Ruby Lea Pollitt, 92, of Canton passed away at 3:05 am Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born on July 6, 1926 in Lewistown to Edward and Edna (Wheeler) Potts. Ruby married Gilbert Pollitt on March 17, 1945 in Canton. He preceded her in death on November 4, 1994. Also preceding in death were her parents, son Dennis Pollitt, brother Paul Potts and two sisters; Opal West and Garnet Dunning. Surviving is a son Stuart Pollitt of Canton, grandchild Missi (Sam) Thomas of Abington, three great grandchildren; Velvet Thomas, Josey Thomas, and Londyn Thomas, a great-great grandchild Dondre "Dre" Spotser, and several nieces and nephews.
Ruby was the campground manager at Canton Lake for over 20 years. She was a member of the Women of the Moose and an avid gardener of flowers and vegetables. Most of all she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Ruby was known for lighting up Keeling Court with holiday decorations.
Services will be 2:00 pm Monday, February 11, 2019 at Oaks-Hines Funeral Home and Crematory in Canton where visitation will be one hour prior to services. The Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate.
