Deloris Wardell


Smithfield-Deloris Wardell, 90, passed away on Wednesday, September 12, 2018 at the Graham Hospital in Canton.

She was born on January 29, 1928 in Eagle River, WI, to William and Beulah (Streeter) Rogers.  They preceded her in death.

She married Bernard Tracey and later married Lyle Wardell.  They preceded her in death.

Surviving are her children, Pamela Derry-Grubb of Canton, Kevin Tracey of Canton, step children, John, Joan, Jim and Jeff Wardell, one brother, Daniel Rogers of Eagle River, WI and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by two children, Gloria Beckett, Diana Smizer, five brothers, Victor, Raphael “Bud”, William, Lowell and Chancey and two sisters, Reva and Venona.

Deloris worked as a nurse’s aid in the emergency department at Graham Hospital for over 20 years.  She enjoyed fishing and crocheting.  She was a member of the Nazarene Church in Smithfield and was active in the Cuba Senior Community Center.

Cremation rites have been accorded and there will be a celebration of her life held at a later date.

Burial of the ashes will be held at the Wiley Cemetery.

Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton has been entrusted with services.

Memorials may be made to the Cuba Senior Community Center or Fulton County Humane Society.
