Canton – Irma M. Atkins, 91, of Canton died at 9:20 p.m. on Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Graham Hospital Extended Care in Canton
She was born May 20, 1923 in Vermont, to Earl and Lucinda (Hummell) Burgett. She married Roger L. “Blackie” Atkins on October 21, 1944 in Canton. He preceded her in death on May 2, 1991.
She is survived by two children, Sherry (Dave) Auld of Norris and Gary (Chris) Atkins of Canton; two grandchildren, Ellyn Dearing and Darin Atkins; two granddogs, Frank and Beans; and one grandcat, Skeeter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
Irma was a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with her husband, fishing and mushroom hunting.
Cremation rites have been accorded. Private graveside services will be held at a later date at White Chapel Memory Gardens in Canton. Oaks-Hines Funeral Home in Canton is in charge of arrangements.
Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
