Sharon A. Gaul

Farmington- Sharon A. Gaul, 76, of Farmington, passed away at 6:34 PM on Friday, May 3, 2024 at Graham Hospital in Canton. She was born on August 9, 1947 in Peoria, a daughter of John and Phyllis (Smith) Stear. She married Russell F. Gaul Jr. on February 18, 1968 in Peoria. He preceded her in death on February 7, 2002.

Also preceding her in death were her parents, bothers, Wayne and Bruce Stear, and sister, Brenda Clanin.

Surviving are her children, Kari (Darren) Berry of Farmington; Kelly (Scott) Nolan of Rapatee; Kim Streitmatter of Farmington; Courtney Bauman of Yates City; three grandchildren, Grace and Conner Berry; Emily Streitmatter, and one great granddaughter, Rylee Chatten.

She worked as a bookkeeper for Kmart for several years, shortly after getting married, and later dedicated her life taking care of her family, she was known as the neighborhood mother to many, loved to sing and have great laughs playing cards with her family, but most of all was the love for her grandchildren.

A visitation will be held from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Thursday, May 9, 2024 at Anderson Sedgwick Funeral Home in Farmington. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. A graveside service and burial of ashes will take place in Cottonwood Cemetery in rural Hanna City on Saturday, May, 11, 2024 at 10:00 AM. Rev. Kevin VanTine will officiate.
